Since its opening on 26th April, 2002, it has developed an ambitious exhibition programme, including the work of major international artists, as well as an extensive schedule of activities linked to contemporary culture (film, music, conferences, courses, seminars, dramatic arts, ...), education and the dissemination of modern art.

However, the history of Artium dates back to the last quarter of the twentieth century when the Provincial Council of Álava took the first steps to create a collection presently comprising of more than 3000 works of art, ranging from paintings to multimedia installations.

 

 

It is located just outside the Medieval centre, very close to the new Museum of Archaeology and the Fournier Playing Card Museum.

OTHER RATES

You Decide Rate

Each Wednesday and the weekend following the opening of an exhibition.
Students, unemployed, pensioners an under-14s, every day of the year. You decide rate: you decide whether to pay and how much.
Contributions made are used to develop programmes and the upkeep of the museum-centre.

Annual pass: 10 €
visits to exhibitions throughout the whole year as from date of purchase.

Groups:
Guided visits: €73.00, admission included. Maximum 25 people per group.

  • Free audio guide with admission ticket to the museum-centre (limited nº of units)
  • The museum provides pushchairs for children and wheelchairs to visiting the galleries. These can be requested at the cloakroom.
