As night falls over the reservoir, look up and discover a sky filled with stars. With little light pollution to dim the view, it is a beautiful place to watch the night sky come alive.
The activity is held during one of the most anticipated moments of the summer — the meteor shower known as The Perseids, or the ‘Tears of St. Lawrence’ — in the vicinity of the Guevara Tower and Palace, a historic setting that adds another dimension to the experience.
With telescopes and guidance from an expert, you will learn to recognise constellations and planets, and enjoy spotting shooting stars.
- Ideal for: All ages and astronomy and nature lovers.
- Difficulty: Easy.
- Remember: This activity is dependent on night sky visibility and weather conditions.
- What to take: Warm clothes and comfortable footwear. Bring a blanket or mat to lie on for stargazing if you can.
