Places around the reservoir frequented by kingfishers

Get up close to one of the most attractive birds on the reservoir, the kingfisher. This experience involves a guided tour to catch sight of this captivating bird, coinciding with the mating and courtship period and the moment when they are most abundant in numbers after the wintering birds arrive in autumn.

The route passes through common kingfisher spots in fishing areas and natural perches. The route is a mix of short gentle walks and pauses to wait and watch, respecting the birds’ behaviour.

  • Difficulty: Easy. Short routes with stops for birdwatching.
  • Remember: This activity is dependent on the weather and bird behaviour.
